I still remember the first evening there at the Kinabatangan River… night was falling and we were still speeding on the boat on a 2 1/2 hr journey to our guesthouse…
The night sky was incredible… it was a little cloudy but the stars shone with that extra halo and glow and there were millions of them that lit up the entire skies… I’ve never seen so many stars in my entire life!
Back on Earth, the fireflies lit up the river banks like Christmas trees… it was just spectacular… trees after trees of synchronised light performance by the thousands of fireflies… Simply magic
I was just feeling the breeze on my face, looking up towards the skies, lying at the edge of the boat feeling the cool river water and entertained by the fireflies x’mas trees parade… and i think to myself…

What a wonderful world…. Good night
