Witnessed a natural wonder right by my doorstep this evening. Huge flocks of thousands of Pacific and Barn swallows have been flying past my neightbourhood lately during the early mornings and late evenings. But on this particular stormy evening, the swallows decided to take shelter right in front of my house, on my clothing lines!
I live up on the 9th storey. Lucky me get to see them flying at eye-level
It was quite a spectacular sight and an interesting experience as well! Photographing birds at night for the first time in the middle of a thunderstorm. When i was looking at the photos on my computer later on, i realized that the rain drops that was captured in mid air looks like tiny stars dotted across the black velvet sky! The swallow seems like they were lining up for a star-gazing session!
Somehow, looking at these images seems to have a calming effect over me. It seems the swallows are at peace with themselves, just patiently waiting the rain out and admiring the raindrops and being one with Nature. These images are definately something different, and they will always hold a special place in my heart. ![]()
