The man who despite his uncurable amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (motor neurone disease), whom the doctors said he would not survive more than two or three years. He battled the odds and has survived much longer than any other known sufferer of ALS. His failing body may not have the strength to fight on, but his mind certainly does. He’s the one who inspired me to be an astronomer when i was younger. Of course, i have since realized that i’m not really a math or science person…
