“The tiger, largest of all cats, is one of the most charismatic and evocative species on Earth; it is also one of the most threatened. Only 5,000-7,000 remain in the wild, most in isolated pockets spread across increasingly fragmented forests stretching from India to south-eastern China and from the Russian Far East to Sumatra, Indonesia. In the past century, the world has lost three of the nine tiger subspecies. The Bali, Caspian, and Javan tigers have all become extinct … and many scientists believe the South China tiger is “functionally extinct”.”

One rainy afternoon an inspired 15-year old boy named John Goddard sat down at his kitchen table in Los Angeles and wrote three words at the top of a yellow pad, “My Life List.” Under that heading he wrote down 127 goals.
These were not simple or easy goals. They included climbing the world’s major mountains, exploring from source to mouth the longest rivers of the world, piloting the world’s fastest aircraft, running a mile in five minutes and reading the entire Encyclopedia Britannica.

Now, a generation later, he has accomplished 109 of these quests, and has logged an impressive list of records in achieving them.

Some of the items on the list makes me laugh coz many were so similar to mine…
We all dream of being something great as a child. Mine was to become an astronaut / astronomer. I’ve read every astronomy books in the library since i was 9 and could remember the names of stars, nebulas, galaxies etc better than the names of my classmates. Does that count? Kidding… Well, i’ve since realized that i’m not a very science and math person. :p

This is indeed very inspirational. The sky is the limit…. or should i say the sky is NOT the limit. Nothing is impossible if we really want to make it happen and he showed us exactly that and broke several records along the way too!
